The ConCord Leader is also suitable for healthy horses in addition to daily training. It showed that if you walk your horse frequently by hand with the Leader, most horses develop a good muscle building in neck, back and especially the hindquarters. It takes relatively little energy and the muscle yield is optimal.
The Quintic Biomechanic research aims to reveal the actual effect of the ConCord Leader and to demonstrate which body parts it stimulates.
With a high speed camera and advanced software, the Quintic measures among other things the stride of all four legs and the movement amplitude of different joins. The Quintic filmed a horse walking with and without Leader. Striking in the survey is that it shows the huge difference between the forward and backward motion of the hind legs (see results research protraction/retraction hind leg). The research also shows that there is an increased movement amplitude of the lumbar and lumobsacral spine (see picture research). Muscles make this increased movement amplitude possible. Thus it is likely that increased muscles occur on these sites using the ConCord Leader.
In addition with the usual training, the ConCord Leader can be used 20 minutes a day, 2 or 3 times a week. This is intended in addition to the training and there should be at least half a day between both exercises. For example in the morning/afternoon/evening.
An other option is to use the Leader ten or fifteen minutes during the warming up or cooling down. Preferably outside on the road or field. The Leader can be attached over or in front of the saddle.
